Robin's Story
Robin Markin Miller Jr. was born on Feb. 20, 1978 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie Indiana. He was born to Robin Markin Miller and Katy (Heard) Miller. I, his mother had never been around small children, and I was scared to death. I got over that pretty quickly!
At about 1 month old, Robin started holding his breath when he cried. I was terrified and would panic until I took him to the doctor, who told me not to worry about it, the worst that would happen would be that he would pass out, and then he would catch his breath! After a while he grew out of it. As a little boy, Robin was very loving and wasn't afraid to display affection. When it was bedtime, he had to give everybody a hug and a kiss goodnight! Man, woman, or child, it made no difference to Robin, and with each kiss, he would say "I love you" and wait until it was said back to him.  How I wish I could kiss him goodnight now!!
When he was 2 1/2  years old, his little brother, Tommy was born. Before Tommy was born, Robin loved him. He didn't know whether he was going to have a brother or sister, but it didn't matter to him. He would talk to the baby and and kiss my belly. As with everyone else, the baby got a goodnight kiss every night. When Tommy was born, Robin was thrilled to be a big brother. He loved holding and feeding Tom, but didn't care much about learning the whole diaper thing!
In the mornings, while Tom napped, we had our daily exercise ritual. I would put on the "Winnie The Pooh And The Honey Tree" record, and we would do " Up, Down, Touch the ground". He loved doing that, everyday, sometimes more than once! How I wish I could listen to that song with him one more time!!! I can still hear him saying "Lets extercise mommy".
We had an upstairs where we lived, and one time, I had to run upstairs for something. I thought Robin was right behind me (he usually was, whatever I was doing he always wanted to help). When I went back down, the first thing I noticed was that 2 week old Tommy wasn't on the couch anymore, and Robin was nowhere to be seen either. I frantically tore through the house, calling Robins name.I found them in the kitchen, Robin sitting with Tommy on his lap, in front of an open refridgerator with an ice cold bottle in Tommy's mouth! "I'm feeding the baby, mommy, he's hungry".  You loved your little brother, and always wanted to take care of him. You were such a caring person!
